2.Prepare to Register Early!
Due to an upgrade to the U's core
technology, registration for May, summer, and fall terms will be earlier
than usual. To prepare for this year's early registration, meet with both your College advisor, and your Psychology
Major Advisor and learn about
changes to the registration process. Keep in mind that
registration is the busiest time of year for advisors, and thus appointments
tend to fill up 1-2 weeks in advance.

group Active Minds is a student-run mental health advocacy group devoted to
educating students about the prevention of mental health issues and reducing
the stigma of mental illness. This week their meeting will feature guest
speaker, Scott Burwell from the Psychology department, coming to talk about his

University Student Legal Services, Mock Trial Association, CLA Career Services
and the Pre-Law Society are proud to present the Careers in Law Fair. The event
will be located in the Willey Hall Atrium from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on
Wednesday, March 4th. Registration is not required! Participants include more
than 50 exhibitors from a number of prominent government agencies, nonprofits,
criminal justice organizations, several political offices, and a dozen law
schools. Learn first hand about graduate school options, related volunteer and

6.Active Minds Walks to Support the MN National Eating Disorder Association
Active
Minds will be participating in the MN NEDA (National Eating Disorder Association)
Walk on the morning of Sunday, February 22nd at the Mall of America. Come join
us to support the cause! The walk is from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM and student

For those concerned about transportation, the light rail blue line will take

7.RA Position Involving Coding Faces for Positive Emotion Sp 15
A lab at the Institute of Child Development is seeking a Research Assistant (in any major) to help with a facial emotion coding project. The position is available immediately. If it's still possible for you to get credit for this semester, we will definitely work with you on that. The project is focused on how emotional interactions between parents and children can impact child outcomes. The RA will code parent faces specifically for positive emotion, using the coding scheme. You will gain training in facial emotion coding and learn about the process of conducting psychology research. Previous psychology or child development research experience is a plus, but the most important factor is a strong interest in facial emotion coding. Time Commitment: 3-9 hours per week effective from now until the end of the spring semester. SOP is dedicated to spreading and sharing the latest research achievements around the world and offering a very convenient access to all the individual researchers and academic communities. SOP aims not only to promote the progress of science, but also to improve the level of research in developing areas. Under the principle of Open Access, SOP is devoted to promoting Open Access journal publishing worldwide. With SOP, any scientific outcome is obtainable at anytime in any corner of the world. We received 1263 manuscripts, and accepted 549 of them in 2014. SOP is making every effort to publish the latest research outcomes and scientific information in various subjects as many as possible. Any topics of subjects concerned are welcome. For more information, please visit the homepage of the journals. In order to promoting the scientific research, we reduced the publishing fees in this quarter and some of our journals are totally free of charge.

12.HECUA's summer-term course, "Race in America: Then and Now"
If you are
looking to do something unique with your summer-term, HECUA’s "Race in
America: Then and Now" Might be just what you’re looking for. This course
has been running for nearly 10 years, but I think it has a renewed relevance
and urgency given the events of the past year as we have seen a dramatic shift
in public conversation around race in the United States. The tragic deaths of
Michael Brown, Eric Garner, John Crawford, Tamir Rice, and other unarmed black
men dominated the news, powerful protests forced Americans to confront the twin
realities of institutionalized racism and police brutality. Protests spilled
onto the highways of major cities, occupied shopping malls, and dominated
digital spaces, framing dissent around a single rallying cry, originally posted
as a Facebook status by 33 year old Alicia Garza: "Black lives
matter." Race in America: Then and Now dives into questions of racial
justice in America today, and the continuing role of race in the United States.
Students meet with civil rights activists who were active in the 1960s and
those who are active now, as well as lawyers, politicians, educators, and
youth. Field experiences open up connections among issues related to education,
incarceration, distribution of wealth, health care, housing, employment, and
the environment. By the end of the month, students have a profound
understanding of the Civil Rights Movement—its motivations, strategies,
successes and failures—and they have also developed ways to make meaningful
contributions to their own communities. The course (ID 3574, 6 credits) will
run from June 8th to June 29th. It will be based in
Jackson, Mississippi, but include multi-day trips to Alabama, Tennessee, and

Responsibilities include: Plan and deliver financial literacy/21 Century skills training to all youth in program. Basically, what is it that people want based on data and how do we give it to them while keeping in mind the business aspects? As a Market Research Analyst, your focus would be answering these questions.
