1.University Student Legal Services
The 16th Annual Careers in Law Forum will take place this year on Wednesday, March 5th, from 12:00PM to 3PM in the Willey Hall Atrium. This year's participants include 50 exhibitors from more than a dozen law schools and a number of prominent government agencies, paralegal programs, nonprofit organizations, criminal justice organizations, political offices, and test preparation programs. There is no registration necessary for this event. Stop by at any time to learn first hand about graduate school options, volunteer programs, internship experiences, and professions in the legal community. This event is not just for those considering law school-it features opportunities for a variety of academic disciplines in law-related fields. This event is sponsored by the University Student Legal Services, CLA Career Services, Pre-Law Society, and Mock Trial Association. 2.U OF M Job and Internship Fair
This Friday, February 21 from 10:00am - 4:00pm the University of Minnesota will host their annual Job & Internship Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Don't miss the biggest student career fair in Minnesota! More than 200 organizations will be there recruiting for hundreds of jobs and internships. Visit the event website to learn more, register, and get preparation tips. The Fair is open to all U of M undergraduates, graduate students, and recent alumni. Free transportation will be provided from campus. The cost will be $10, if you pre-register; $25 at the door on the day of the fair. This year registered participants will get a free professional headshot photo for LinkedIn and other social media! Photographers will be on site during the entire event. 4.Careers in Law Forum
The University Student Legal Services, Mock Trial Association, CLA Career Services and the Pre-Law Society are proud to present the 16th Annual Careers in Law Forum. Participants include more than 50 exhibitors from a number of prominent government agencies, nonprofits, criminal justice organizations, several political offices, and a dozen law schools. Learn first hand about graduate school options, related volunteer and internship experiences, and professions in the local legal community. This event is not just for those considering law school- it features opportunities for a variety of academic disciplines in law-related fields. The event will be located in the Willey Hall Atrium from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 5th. Registration is not required!

5.College Possible Information Session
College Possible is a growing nonprofit dedicated to helping low-income students get to and through college. We are powered by AmeriCorps and VISTA members who help high school students earn admission to college, support college students to graduation, and do indirect service in event planning, communications, fundraising, and human resources. Full-time AmeriCorps and VISTA positions with a 10 to 12 month commitment are available in the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, Omaha and Portland beginning in fall 2014. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 (4:00pm - 5:00pm) in 518/520 Science Teaching and Student Services Building, there will be an Information Session to learn more about opportunities with College Possible! 6.Study Abroad in Psychology
Come learn about how you could study abroad within your major! During this weeks meeting on Thursday (Feb. 20th), at 5pm in Elliot Hall N639. Hear from students on their experiences, and the Learning Abroad Center. All are encouraged to attend, you do not have to be a Psi Chi member! If you are interested in joining Psi Chi this semester, the deadline in March 14th. You can learn about the requirements and how to apply online. 7.Developmental Psychopathology Research (Cicchetti Lab)
Researchers at the Institute of Child Development are currently seeking motivated undergraduate students who are interesting in participating in developmental psychopathology research. Our project may be of particular interest for those pursuing research experiences in clinical or developmental psychology, with emphasis on caregiver-child relations, social-emotion and language development. Students who are native English speakers and can commit to 6 to 10 hours a week with a minimum of 2 semesters are preferred. Lab duties include transcribing videos, coding linguistic and affective data, and data entry. Opportunities to be involved in professional presentations may be offered pending on the commitment of the student. Our project is flexible to the schedule of interested undergraduates and hours accrued this semester can be rolled over toward the next. 11.Volunteer with Kenwood Therapy Center
Kenwood Therapy Center is an innovative, 12-therapist clinic and training center in Minneapolis, MN. We currently have an opening in our volunteer program to assist in the front office as administrative support. Duties include scheduling clients, insurance benefit checks, and confidential phone intakes and referrals. Parts of this opportunity include the chance to speak to real people about real problems, and will provide context to further positions and graduate work. Experience, compassion, maturity, good judgment, and interest in working with clients with emotional, relational, sexual, and other serious life issues are important. This position is ideal for upperclassmen or individuals contemplating going on to graduate school in Psychology or Sociology, or other mental health fields; or someone interested in general work in a mental health clinic. We are looking for applicants that are able to commit for at least one year for approximately two four-hour shifts per week. We currently need volunteers during weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. Administrative experience preferred. We are looking for someone to start ASAP. 13.Volunteer Abroad This Summer
Do something amazing this summer in an incredible part of the world! Pour un Sourire d'Enfant, For a Child's Smile is a non-religiously affiliated NGO based in Cambodia. Each year we run summer camps for Cambodian children to prevent them from working on rubbish dumps or doing other dangerous jobs. We are looking for committed, enthusiastic volunteers to help run our amazing summer camp experience this year. The only cost for volunteers is the airfare to and from country, and spending money for travel/weekends (approximately $300 should be budgeted). Are you up to the challenge? 17.Research Assistant Position Available at the VA Health Care System
We are currently accepting applications for a GS-7 level Research Assistant to join Project STRIVE - a randomized clinical trial investigating treatment for PTSD and co-morbid substance use disorder. Individuals interested in gaining applied research experience in order to advance their career development in the field of clinical psychology or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will join an active team of clinician investigators at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System conducting research on post-deployment mental health among combat veterans, including post-traumatic stress, risk and resilience factors, and treatment outcome evaluation. The Research Assistant will work closely with study project coordinator and investigators to ensure research activities run smoothly. Specific duties include: Assisting project team with subject recruitment, scheduling screening interviews with potential participants, obtaining informed consent, data collection, conducting literature searches, preparing literature reviews and bibliographies, assisting team with basic statistical analyses and preparing reports, and assisting in manuscript preparation and development of grant proposals. The position is full-time with funding for this position available for at least one year. Current GS-7 starting wage is $19.89 per hour. YouthLink is an agency that provides a continuum of services focused on youth in crisis and/or who are homeless, precariously housed, marginalized and at risk of homelessness. They currently have an opening for a Full Time Housing Case Manager. The Housing Case Manager provides a minimum of 20 hours of direct service to homeless youth with the goal of supporting their transition to adulthood.
