Psychology Advising
1. Save the Date for Research in Psychology Week! March 30th-April 1st
Psychology Undergraduate Advising is excited to present Research in Psychology Week! This 3-day event will expose psychology students to the variety of research opportunities within the psychology department, as well as help students understand what to expect and how to prepare for completing research for credit through PSY 4/5993: Directed Research. Stop by the Research in Psychology Fair anytime during the times listed below, and attend the Research in Psychology panel to learn more about the process for getting involved in research!
RESEARCH IN PSYCHOLOGY FAIR: Wednesday, March 30th and Thursday, March 31st, 12:30-2:00pm, Elliott Hall 1st floor lobby. Stop by anytime!
Representatives from Psychology research labs, UROP, and Psychology Advising will be available to give information and answer questions about research in psychology.
RESEARCH IN PSYCHOLOGY PANEL: Friday, April 1st, 1:00-2:00pm, N219 Elliott Hall
Learn about Psychology research experience from Undergraduate Research Assistants, Psychology lab supervisors, and faculty members! *Please RSVP to psyadvis@umn.edu, subject: "Psychology Panel" to reserve your spot. This panel will also be videotaped and available for later viewing.

4. Spend a Post-Graduation Year Abroad with a Fulbright Scholarship!
Fulbright supports Americans for one year of study, research, creative work, or English teaching abroad. Over 100 countries participate; over 1000 Fulbright scholarships are awarded annually. 6. Need a Semester Referesher? LASK 1101 Starts Monday, 3/21
SASS will be offering LASk 1101 (Academic Refresher; #48992), which will start on Monday, March 21st. This 1-credit course is a term-B, mid-semester course that offers assistance over the 2nd half of the semester to students experiencing academic concerns. You may find the course listed in the Class Search, using "LASK" as a subject search term. Feel free to contact the SASS Director at 612-626-0150 with any additional question.

7. CLA Career Services is Hiring Peer Advisors!
Looking for a job for next year? CLA Career Services is looking for excellent students to join their team. Peer Advisors work in the resource room approximately 10-14 hours a week during the normal office hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Active participation in weekly one-hour staff meeting is required. We will be hiring for 5-6 positions starting in September 2016 for the 2016-17 academic year. The position pays $9.50/hour. To apply, go to the U's employment site by searching for job ID 308148. The deadline to apply is 12pm (noon) on Friday, March 25, 2016. Want to learn more about being a peer advisor?
