1. MetLife Careers Networking Reception for Graduates
University alumni and graduating students are cordially invited to attend a networking reception to learn more about careers with MetLife and speak directly with MetLife career representatives. Previous industry experience is welcomed, but it is not a requirement to attend. Join us on June 8th from 5:30to 7:30 in University Hall of the McNamara Alumni Center This is A FREE event for interested alumni or graduating students. RSVP required. 2. $500! Apply for a Summer 2015 Psych Engagement Award! Deadline June 15th
Are you participating in an internship here or abroad this summer? Or engaging in a learning opportunity that takes you outside of the classroom for a unique experience? The Department of Psychology's Donor Awards for Psychology Undergraduate Engagement are available to support you! The purpose of these awards is to encourage and support psychology majors who engage in learning experiences beyond the University campus and classroom environments (i.e. unpaid internships, volunteer experiences, study abroad containing a psych-related internship or research component, etc.). Up to two awards of $500 will be offered Summer 2015. The Summer 2015 application deadline is June 15, 2015. Notification Date: June 25, 2015. CLA Career Services can: Critique or help you write resumes and cover letters, Do practice interviews, Advise you about all aspects of a job search. Services are available to all current CLA students, and to CLA alumni for up to one year after graduating from the U of M.

4. 360 Communities is Hiring a Spanish Speaking Home Visitor
The primary responsibility of this position (Spanish Speaking Home Visitor) is to engage families in a supportive relationship by providing home visiting services and carefully planned interventions to address parenting, attachment, child development, school readiness and other issues affecting the parent-child relationship and family health. Home visits are provided on a weekly basis during the first six to nine months of service, decreasing in frequency, for up to four years. The home visitor is responsible for following MAHF policies and procedures and meeting training and reporting requirements. This position requires significant skills in engaging families using a relationship and strength-based approach, knowledge of and capacity to address complex family issues, organizational and analytical abilities, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Look no further for a volunteer opportunity that infusing fitness into your community service. Volunteer individually or gather up a group of friends, housemates or teammates. The iCan Bike Camp - Twin Cities is the week of August 3rd. You are instrumental in a camper achieving a rite of passage in life, independently riding a two-wheel bike creates confidence, independence & friendship. 6. SFER Action Network Paid Summer Fellowship Program
Join a local team of students to learn field organizing and impact your community. Our fellowships include: Guided campaign & leadership skill-building throughout the program, working 40 hours per week applying your training: interning with SFER, door knocking, phone banking and more. Visit our web page for more information and to apply.
7. NYLC Hiring a Youth Leadership Specialist
The Youth Leadership Specialist (YLS) is responsible for ensuring positive outcomes for diverse groups of adults working with youth and youth participants themselves, in various settings with a focus on out-of-school time (OST). A successful YLS will accomplish this through providing online and in-person training and technical assistance on service-learning and youth leadership to educators, youth, and OST providers. Major responsibilities include developing trainings and materials, implementing NYLC programs, supporting the development of programs to foster youth leadership through service-learning in OST networks, and developing and maintaining relationships with key partners both locally, within states, and nationally. 8. AmeriCorps Positions with MN Literacy
We are looking for 26 more dedicated individuals to join us in a year of AmeriCorps service to make literacy programs stronger and empower communities through education. We seek candidates who are passionate about education, community service and ending poverty, are at least 18 years old, are able to commit to a 12-month full-time position from July 28, 2015 - July 30, 2016, and are looking for a fun and challenging professional experience. Charged to design and direct literacy initiatives and tackle the achievement gap, Literacy VISTAs work side-by-side with seasoned professionals and committed volunteers at schools, community-based nonprofit organizations or local government agencies. 9. AmeriCorps VISTA Positions with College Possible
At College Possible we are looking for applicants for our AmeriCorps and VISTA positions next year, specifically hiring a Research and Evaluation VISITA to work in the National Office. This is a new position that is centered on supporting our internal and external evaluations, including our Harvard RCT and U.S. Departments of Education and Treasury evaluations. A key aspect of our research and evaluation work is ensuring we have systems, tools, and processes in place for consistent data collection, management, and reporting. We are a data-driven organization and love to use data to make meaningful difference in our students’ lives! The position comes with a stipend and benefits, and is a one year commitment but can extend to two years. Since the position is new it is not listed on theapplication link, but applicants can select College or High School Program VISITA in St. Paul or type in the Research and Evaluation VISITA.
10. President's Emerging Scholars Program Assistant Full-Time Position
The President’s Emerging Scholars program (PES) at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities is a growing scholarship program designed to increase retention and graduation rates of underserved undergraduate students in all seven colleges. The PES program will support participants for four years. PES participants are enrolled in a variety of majors, with the majority of students enrolling in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) and the College of Liberal Arts (CLA). Approximately 500 new students enter the program each fall, with maximum program occupancy of approximately 2,000 students. The PES program will admit its 3rd cohort in fall, 2015. The Office of Undergraduate Education recently posted an opening for a President's Emerging Scholars Program Assistant on the Twin Cities campus (Job Number 301155). Please consider this opportunity or share with qualified individuals. Program Assistant is responsible for supporting all functions of the President’s Emerging Scholars Program. This includes meeting with students and families, overseeing large program events, and administering student progress checks for scholarship. Applications must be submitted online.
