4.Research Opportunity in Relationships Lab - ICD
Undergraduate research assistant opportunities are available in the Relationships Research Laboratory at the Institute of Child Development. We are seeking excellent undergraduate students interested in gaining research experience in the area of the developmental origins of adult romantic relationships. We currently have several projects ranging from observations of dating couples to experimental work with individuals. 7.Alfred I Johnson Scholarship for Students Interested in Public Affairs
A. I. Johnson was the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives and later a Regent of the University of Minnesota. This scholarship was created for undergraduate students who show a strong interest in public affairs with an intent to pursue a career or activities serving the public. Such careers and activities may include community volunteer activities, organizing to affect public policy, service on government advisory committees, and appointive or elective office. University of Minnesota--Twin Cities Campus students who are degree-seeking undergraduates and who possess a strong interest in public affairs and an intention to pursue a career or activities serving the public are eligible and encouraged to apply. 8.Kathrine E. Sullivan Scholarship for Study Abroad
This scholarship will provide up to $25,0000 to give one senior at any campus of the University of Minnesota the opportunity to enrich her or his academic experience with a fifth year of undergraduate study in another country. The scholarship is intended to support credit-bearing and usually classroom-based study abroad that immerses the student in the host university as well as in the host culture. Proposals should be for full-time study for a full academic year or the equivalent. Applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduates at any University of Minnesota campus; must have senior status (at least 90 credits completed) by the end of Fall semester 2013 with at least 30 credits in residence at a University of Minnesota campus; must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents; and should have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. 9.New Neuroscience Course (NSCI 3100) Counts for BS Outside Foundation Coursework
For those of you who are interested in a new course being offered by the Neuroscience Department (NSCI 3100, Mind and Brain), the course will count towards the Psychology Bachelor of Science Outside Foundation Coursework in the Area D. Biological Science Foundation Cluster. The course was not added to the Onestop class schedule in time for the start of registration, therefore, you will need to register for section 001 of Nsci 4151. The topic of this course will cover the implications of the physical nature of the mind, with an emphasis on decision-making as an entry point into neuroscience and psychology.

This is an opportunity for undergraduate research assistants to collect data for a Math project. We are looking for responsible, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented students who can work in Dr. Ted Christ's lab and help with data collection in schools. Pay is $10/hour, you will need your own reliable transportation to get to-and-from schools, and you must be available to work everyday, all day M-F during the weeks of 1-6-2014 to 1-17-2014 (typically 8AM-4PM depending on school schedule). Must also be available for training on training on January 2nd and/or 3rd (depending on schedules). Tutor student-athletes who are seeking tutoring either one-on-one or in small groups in Psychology. Successful applicants: Must be at least a junior in good academic standing; Possess an overall Cumulative GPA of 3.0.; Have taken and passed with and "A" or "B" any course for which you wish to be considered eligible to tutor/or equivalent courses from other universities; Be able to provide three recommendations from professors/instructors; Capable of working flexible hours. Prior experience and training as a tutor or in education is preferred. Environmental Initiative is a nonprofit organization that works with business, nonprofit, and government leaders to develop collaborative solutions to Minnesota's environmental problems. The senior environmental project associate is an entry-level position responsible for supporting a range of designated Environmental Initiative projects. The National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD has employment opportunities at the Section on Bipolar Spectrum Disorders (BSD). BSD seeks qualified individuals to fill Research Assistant positions, with employment starting May/June 2014. BSD conducts research on the pathophysiology, treatment and prevention of childhood mental illnesses, with an emphasis on bipolar disorder and severe irritability (SMD) in children. Research assistants are involved in all aspects of the clinical research process, including analyzing data and interacting with patients.
